Westminster is located in the heart of Little Saigon in Orange County. This city is extremely rich in Asian culture, specifically Vietnamese. You can find the best Asian dishes here! The city itself has good aspects, including its diversity and family friendliness. The public school system in this city is mediocre. The schools are very diverse; however, I feel that the students do not receive the best education. Some teachers genuinely care for their student's education, but I believe that the high school system fails to prepare students for alternate options after high school. As for affordability, California itself has always been expensive. In Westminster, the real estate market is somewhat soaring. Homes in Westminster range anywhere from 500,000 dollars to 2 million. The homeless population in Westminster is high in some areas. I believe that the city should use its money to help these people find housing and jobs. Aside from that, Westminster is a decent city to live in.
Westminster is a relatively nice city to reside in and go to school in. Westminster High School is a great school and I recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of AP classes, no IB classes though. Safety-wise, I think all cities have their risks, but this city is one of the safest in the area. There is some diversity, with Westminster high school teaching around 40% Hispanic and 30% Asian students. Only complaint would be Sigler Park. This park is nice at times, but at others there are drug dealers lurking around. They keep to themselves, but walking past them during a morning walk with the dog isn't exactly pleasant. Other than that, the traffic never gets excessively bad and I was able to get a job quite easily in this city. Westminster has many fast food joints, but also several grocery stores in walking distance. Overall, I love this city!
There are a lot of independent vendors around the westminster area, providing excellent foods and services. The people I’ve encountered were kind souls. The area I live in, Westminster, is highly diverse. At my former elementary and middle schools, I’ve encountered people of multiple, varying backgrounds, creating an understanding of different cultures. The diversity of the area spreads knowledge amongst the community members due to spreads of culture. It provides a sense of belonging and a reminder of homes to those who aren’t natural born Americans, specifically those of Vietnamese and Hispanic descent, because there’s a myriad of places that mimics that of their home town.
