Westminster is a nice little town where you can do anything that you could ever want. You can play basketball, skateboard, or run out in town, or you can play piano, mandolin, read, or study while at your cozy home! There are so many possibilities to choose from each day. You will never have a dull day in Westminster! From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, you will surely have many points of excitement along the way. The people are as nice as they can be. Playing basketball with complete strangers at the park is like playing with lifelong friends, and you will never feel out of place. While in Westminster, you will have your families home, but the town itself is like a second home to all of us. If you are in the mood to dine out, then you have many choices. There are chain restaurants, as well as many of Westminster’s finest locally owned restaurants. Westminster is a community built by the people, where people are in best interest.
Westminster is a great small town in Carroll County, Maryland. There are lots of good restaurants all across the town and the public school system ranks among the best in Maryland. There are plenty of activities to get kids involved in within our community. As a teenage girl, I feel totally safe walking the streets at night, there is nothing to be concerned about here! It is a rural area with lots of farmland, and country music plays everywhere. I highly recommend living in Westminster Maryland if you enjoy the small town atmosphere!
Lifetime resident. For what it is, a medium sized commuter town, Westminster is a great place. Good schools, nice people, plenty of stores. The low points here like night life have gradually improved past few years.
One thing to note I didn’t see mentioned is that Westminster has absurdly small city lines so the population numbers you see of 18K are very low. This also causes the property crime stats to look artificially high.
Biggest problem: aging population. Reacting to swift growth in the 80’s and 90’s the county sharply restricted new development so most jobs are toward Baltimore, and lack of young families with kids is becoming a general trend here as a whole.
