I really enjoy the main street in downtown Westerly. The Westerly Library is an amazing source of easy to use knowledge and Internet. It is surrounded by Wilcox Park, which is great for babies and dog walkers alike. The townspeople are generally friendly and the local store owners are kind. There is also a great selection of restaurants in the area, everything from authentic Japanese to excellent American burgers and fries. There really is something for everyone in Westerly. Raising a family here is nice because the schools seem to work hard and in the interest of the student, and do their best to make sure that safety is a priority.

Westerly is a great small town for families to live in. The school system offers great class options for academic success and has wonderful participation in athletics. The town is safe and relatively quiet on week nights, but can be very busy on weekends. During the summer tourists overtake the town so expect wait times at restaurants and heavier traffic than normal.
Moved here from Massachusetts 22 years ago. It's a wonderful town and the beachfront are the best in RI. Imagine living a few miles from the beach and the rent is cheaper than where I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts. Great schools, friendly people
