Westchester is 15 minutes outside of Chicago. The town is small, and while that may be upsetting for some, it certainly helped knowing everyone growing up. We don't have much crime here, don't even have a high school in our town. It's the next town over and students from another town goes there (three towns in all share it). We're surrounded by cemeteries, all of which are filled with history – literally. Al Capone and his family, Machine Gun Jack, most of Capone's rivals, and, a stark contrast, a majority of the Cardinals and Bishops in Illinois. It's also the town my mother was born and raised in, as well as my grandmother.
I rate the town with only 3 stars because we barely have businesses here. Taxes are too high for such a small town. We have rich towns to the South (LaGrange) and West (OakBrook), and poor towns to the North (Bellwood) and East (Hillside). We're the exact middle, but we can barely afford our house anymore. Even with three employed people.

Very great location, right by Interstate 290, 88, 294, Route 12, 20, 45 and route 83, and close to Ohare airport, and close to lots of food options, close to OakBrook, North Riverside, and Yorktown Mall. Lovely starter homes for younger couples, families, and empty nesters who want to live closer to Chicago. Very safe community, very quiet, family orientated. The only bad thing about Westchester is that the high school district Proviso West is not the best school out there, so if you have high school aged kids, you can enroll them in the nearby private schools such as IC Prep, Montini, Nazareth, St Joes, Proviso Math and Science Academy, Benet, and Fenwick. Very good suburb thats close to everything. 10/10
My overall experience in Westchester has been pretty good. It's a quiet and peaceful neighborhood where you have the option of many restaurants, grocery stores, fitness centers, and clothing stores all in a nearby area. Overall this a great community to live in, and a lot of diversity
