Weather here is very seasonal. Winter temps can drop into the negatives while summer temps can exceed 100 degrees. Spring brings a lot of rain and fall is usually brisk and windy with temperatures dropping as winter approaches. We experience the occasional hurricane or severe thunderstorm and heavy rain/flooding. There are usually multiple severe winter storms.
The job outlook in this area is not very promising. Many people have a very hard time finding employment, especially employment that is steady and pays well. There are A LOT of temp agencies and that leads to a lot of lay offs. Big employers in the area are East Penn Manufacturing and Carpenter Technology.
