Overall alright area, but it really depends on where you are; you're not always going to get that "neighborhood vibe," but it certainly is there if you look in the right places. There might not always be a ton of things to do within the town, but there are beaches and some really nice walking/hiking trails that aren't as well-known.

I live in a small town of approximately five thousand people. We have a small police department and a volunteer fire department. Our town and the surrounding towns help each other as needed. We have a regional school system that is excellent. I feel that if I had a problem that could not be resolved through the town officials, I would have no problem reaching our local state representative.
Many of the older population have been here all their lives. People tend to move here and commute to the city. During the summer, vacationers come to the beaches and to camp. Many people have pets or small farms. My town consists of mostly single family homes with several small senior communities. It is a comfortable place to live.
