The community gets along well and everyone here is kind. but I would like for less alcoholics to be here due to around 4 bars all located in one spot.
Considered one of the “up and coming” areas of Pittsburgh, West View is incredibly ripe for redevelopment. The school district is fantastic and location is prime. There are many older and charming houses in the area that just need revamped. The opening of a few restaurants, boutique style shops and weekend “hot spots” for the younger generation would help this community rebrand itself.
The area is a good place to grow up. There are elementary schools in walking distance. Restaurants and stores are close as well.
West View is an upcoming suburb right outside of Pittsburgh. It’s a perfect location for young professionals who commute to the city and is also a great location for families. The schools are great.
We bought our first home in West View and really like the area. It's close enough to downtown that the commute is minimal, but it's still a suburb. It's conveniently located 5-10 minutes from McKnight road which is incredible. Although, I would love to see revitalization of the main business district/strip, as well as the shopping plaza. I could definitely see the area boom in the future if those two areas acquire more upscale stores, as well as more restaurants and healthier food options. There are also a decent amount of smoking bars in West View... I really think if these were regular bars/night clubs, they would also boom as there aren't many regular non-smoking bars/clubs in the area.
I moved away for college and find myself really missing my hometown city.
Our police are fast responders and work hard for us.
