There is not much in the way of large cultural events in the suburbs of my city, although lots of things happen downtown. There are not many small unique places to go, or eat, or do activities, but a lot of chain restaurants and things like that. Many new chain businesses have opened up relatively closely, and new housing is being built.

West View is where we chose to purchase out first house based on the reputation of it being a small Boro within the Ross Township border. The public school is close enough which limited the bus riding time for my son. It truly feels so much smaller then the bigger communities where you don't even know your neighbor. Neighbors look out for neighbors .
I have lived in this area my entire life so I am probably a little biased, but I think it's a great place to grow up. There are lots of parks for children and plenty of businesses and restaurants. The area I live in is only ten minutes away from downtown so trips into the city are never an issue, but it's far enough away that it still feels like its own community. I love it there, and though it isn't the wealthiest of areas I do believe it has a lot to offer to families.
