I was born and raised in WPB. I love the beaches, love the city life and love how close everything is. However, I would love to see more free community events for families. Would also like to see more restrictions on drivers, there are too many drivers that should not be on the road and cause accidents. I would love to see the house pricing down as well! maybe some new construction homes and townhouse that make it affordable to live. There should be more public libraries as well, more water parks because it gets hot here. Overall, I do like west palm beach. One of the thinks I dislike are the people, many people here are grumpy and rude, always in a rush and not friendly at all. There needs to be more community and understanding from people, it would make our city more at peace to live in and raise a family in. Having many options to shop at is a plus. I like how there is a Walmart or market shopping plaza every 10 miles or so which is very nice for a family and makes it easy as wel
It’s a big town but it’s small. If that makes any sense? The population is only about 120,000 but it’s feels like a city of 400,000-500,000, probably because of the urban sprawl from Miami up to Jupiter. It’s a great town, it’s very fun. Rosemary square is beautiful and is great for young people, families, families with kids and older folks. The beaches on Palm Beach are pretty, there’s lots of parks and a diverse list of neighborhoods. From historic neighborhoods, to new construction homes, to condos and apartments, with many people coming from all over the world. Lots of diversity like Haitian cultures, South American, Jamaican and Europeans all congregate to this town. It’s a great experience. Of course with any large cities, it has areas with high crime and ugly streets. Lots of the city mixes high class homes and low income homes in the same neighborhoods which is interesting and not common in many other cities but I think it’s a cool thing. Overall it’s a great place to live.
I'm so glad my mom moved us to downtown West Palm Beach for me to go to high school at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. This place is so wonderful, there are so many events happening all the time since it is downtown. The grocery store (Publix) is really walkable and the nearby restaurants have such delicious food. I've been here all 4 years of high school and I plan to keep living here in the future, or at least move back here after college. The green market happening every Saturday (until summer when it's too hot, and then it reopens on October) is so enjoyable to attend, there are so many interesting items to buy. In addition, the farmer's market happens right next to the green market, so there are local farmers you can support by buying their home-grown food, flowers, plants, etc. Of course it's pretty expensive to live here since it's downtown, but it's certainly a very nice place to live at.
