I grew up in West Orange most of my life. I came to this town at 5 years old and have been living here ever since. I've never had a particularly bad experience living in this town. It's safe, quiet, calm and there are many different stores you can shop in of your choice. There are many things you can do in this town. You can go to the zoo, there's an ice skating rink, movie theaters, a plaza and a 9/11 memorial reservation area where you can look at New York from a high distance. This town has a lot going for itself. The town of West Orange is also diverse, especially the schools. There are people with many different people from all diverse backgrounds who live in West Orange. There are many different personalities living in this town. My only criticism for this town is how expensive it is compared to other parts of New Jersey. It can be tough to live here because of how expensive it is. Besides that, the good outweighs the bad. There's a reason why I've lived here for a long time.
Okay so I've been living in West Orange for like half of my life and it's been a blast here. I mean the homes are like heaven as well as the local food places around here. If you are able to afford a house here the homes are like a luxury,
I mean you have everything you need. As soon as you move into this town you find yourself a nice group of friends. The community is nice as well. The homeowners make sure they keep their properties well put together.
In terms of high school, it's amazing. I mean the diversity of students there is a blessing for you to have. You'll feel like you belong here. The high school is full of so many welcoming students and professors. The professors really make sure you'll get the education that you need. If you are a determined student you'll thrive in the school district.
There are so many local food restaurants around here as well. The chefs at these local food places cook like actual chefs. What you pay for is really worth it.

This is a wonderful town to live in especially as a family. The homes here are lovely and most have access to a backyard where kids can play. The neighbors around me are friendly and help when we need some assistance on somethings. The winter time however can be a bit rough as it snows a lot, but that is expected living on the northern east coast. The schools here are good but not to say excellent. You may here stories here and there of a couple of bad experiences but in my opinion, all the kids get an equal education based on their interests. There are also parks and the town pool for residents to get involved in. This town really has a lot to offer and it's only about a 30 min or less train ride from NYC so it has great connections. I highly recommend this town to anyone looking to transition to a suburban lifestyle from one like the busy streets of New York. West Orange is a safe town and I really would not trade this town and home for anything in the world. Everyone is happy here.
