I moved to West Milford 2 years ago. I love everything about living here except for the taxes! I am from Bergen County and owned a single family home there for 25 years (talk about taxes!); however, I own a townhome here and pay close to the same amount of taxes. It was my choice to move here, knowing the taxes are high, so I shouldn't complain... but complain I will! Otherwise, people are friendly, plenty of restaurants etc., nature is gorgeous...if you don't like beautiful natural surroundings this isn't the place for you! If you get "bored" as some reviewers have stated then you're not walking out your front door!

I was raised in West Milford from 1960 to 1975...Simply put? I LOVED it there, and i still do...and there was a lot less to do there then now, but, not a whole lot more! Lol...It is beautiful and safe, i was never afraid to go off with my friends there when i was a child, and the nature there is beautiful...I use to always walk in the woods with my dog, he let me know if there was any bears around, and would lead me out of harms way...How much i loved it there, and always will...

I love West Milford! It's filled with lakes and woods so it is perfect for hiking and swimming, lots of outdoor activities. The public schools are amazing I have peers going off to Ivy League schools all the way to amazing in state schools. There are endless opportunities for students here. It is also very safe here I have never felt that my community has not been protected / safe. People are always so kind that I meet, very welcoming here. I recommend West Milford Township to anyone who is interested.
