Review West Hartford
The public school system is great, however improvements could be made on the quality of lunches served, as well as the treatment and handling of children with special needs (ex. ADHD, autism, etc.). Teachers don't seem to know how to handle these children and they are suffering because of the lack of knowledge on the teacher's part. Safety is mostly good, however there has been a recent spike in crime with bank robberies and car break ins. The cost of living is also relatively high compared to surrounding towns.
West Hartford is a very safe and secure town to live in. There’s a wide range of fun things to do such as walking trails, parks, swimming pools etc. West Hartford Center is a very fun place to hangout with friends both at night and during the day. It has a lot of different kinds of restaurants (italian, pizza, taco places), a library, a bookstore, music store and retail stores. You can do pretty much everything there. The parking lots are also easily accessible which makes it even better. The schools are also amazing and highly rated. Overall, living in West Hartford is a pretty pleasant experience.
West Hartford is a great town to live in if you're raising a family and looking for top-notch education. While it might not have the best special-education curriculum, its public schools are equivalent to the best private schools in the state. It's definitely on the pricey side but can be managed if you're looking for something more affordable. Close to Hartford and New Haven so night life is accessible, if not hopping. Is mostly white but still has a diverse population overall.
