I’ve lived in West Covina for about fifteen years now. The city has a lot to offer! Lots of shopping, food, entertainment and outdoor recreation. The City council is moderate and makes sure they fund their city government. Crime is low compared to the surrounding cities and the school district is very competitive and growing. Overall West Covina is a safe city to raise a family.
I grew up in West Covina. I lived here for over 20 years. There's plenty of shopping and restaurants in the city or nearby. West Covina doesn't have a nightlife, but some of the neighboring cities do. There's many hospitals and dental offices nearby.
When I was a kid, the schools were good, I'm not sure how things are now. The demographic 20 years ago was primarily Caucasian. In the past decade there's been a growing Hispanic, Asian and Pacific Islander community forming in the area so it is much more diverse now. The neighborhoods used to be quiet and the area was much safer back then. You used to be able to walk at night with little to no fear of being the victim of a crime. But there's been a huge increase of crime and gang activity in the past decade. The housing cost has skyrocketed. There may still be nicer parts of West Covina, but the area surrounding Baldwin Park, La Puente and Covina has really gone down in value. The overall quality of the city has gone way down.

I really like living here, I feel safe. I would definitely someone to live and move here. All the people living here are so nice and friendly. I just moved here a few years ago, everything was unknown, but my neighbors have helped me a lot!
