There's not much going on, but its not a bad place. The people are not bad and can be sometimes very nice to talk with. The public schools are getting upgrades and there's more and more of them being built to help with the growing population of the state. Many of the schools offer a lot for the community and give students the chance to branch out in different career fields, to see if they are even interested in something before they go to college. Its not very diverse, you see a lot of white or black people, not a lot of anything else. There's not a lot to do around town, downtown Columbia is nice, but other than that, it doesn't offer a lot of entertainment. The older houses you can find, are a lot more affordable and aren't that bad look wise, there's also trailers you can buy, that looks close to houses and are very nice. There is a lot of land for sale and its easy to be a home owner, because like I said, the house prices aren't that expensive.
We are a military family and we currently live in a camper and would like to see more RV parks around the west Columbia area. This area is great! The rodeos, shopping less than 30 minutes away.
The place and people are very nice here! Although the weather can get hot and humid sometimes, the river is always there for cooling off. You can go tubing, kayaking, or just take a swim. It also has a top-ranked zoo. The Botanical Entrance is located in West Cola., and it includes a splash park for children, and lovely gardens to walk in. The city has also been working to build up shops in an area called the Vista, and shops are springing up everywhere.
