We moved here 5 1/2 years ago from the mid cities. Mainly to escape traffic find some peace and quiet. Sadly, that hasn’t been the case.
The traffic is horrible, our quiet historical neighborhood has turned into a “cut through” for traffic avoiding the main streets. Our neighbors dog was run over right in front of them and the person never stopped. We wake up every morning to clean trash out of our yard, our cars have been broken into at least 5 times, someone threw an empty 6 pack of bottled beer and shattered it on our truck and driveway just a week ago. I have actually had to clean up a splattered diaper off my sidewalk...Not to mention cars go 50/60 miles per hour through here... it’s a residential area!
I have seen numerous neighbors have to scrape their dead cats off the street.
We have waited patiently for the city to do something about this with zero results.
The taxes are pretty high and roads are aweful...

Its a cute little town but You get sick of the same 5 restaurants + fast food. The town seems to be completely littered with garbage all the time, roadkill every 1/2 mile, stray dogs/cats.. There are a lot of junky houses, most in my area are single-wide trailers with bed sheets over the windows and broken down cars in the front yard. People don't really take pride in their property/home. That being said, we do feel very safe. No crime, people look out for each other. Not many jobs that pay above minimum wage, but then again people mostly commute to Fort Worth. Weatherford Christian School was amazing for my son, and the Peach Festival in July is fun. We love the Little League for my son. People are generally really nice. Good drivers. Cute town square. Definitely has that small-town country feel but you get all the conveniences of a large town. There are some beautiful views and lots of amenities, Target, Walmart, Chick Fil A, TJ Max, HEB, just to name a few.
Great place to live that offers an easy commute into Fort Worth. Plenty of standard big box retailers in town along with some locally owned iconic shops. Our public square is coming along nicely. Local cuisine is developing beautifully with some influence from some skilled chefs that are known in the industry. You will never feel unsafe in Weatherford day or night. It's a law and order town. If you are loud, rude, or just a criminal in general you aren't welcome. Weatherford has an awesome law enforcement agency that does its job with the resources at hand. I wish we had more of them. I live in the western area of the city and I would like to see the city build different precincts for faster response. Park system is really an achievement, bike trails, fishing, swimming.
