I recently moved to Weatherford and everyone here has been very kind and helpful! Almost everyone knows each other so it is easy to get good recommendations from people. Neighbors are quiet and clean, which is surprising for a college town. There is a lot of small businesses and you're always close to stores, restaurants, medical services, the college, or anything else you need!
There are some downsides, and the biggest would be the heat and humidity. I knew it would be hot, but the humidity can be a killer. Make sure you have a working A/C unit and some outdoor shade before you move here! It's also a lot more expensive than we thought it would be (high prices on groceries in addition to a nearly 10% sales tax). Plus insurance is higher because of the risk of tornadoes, so plan accordingly if you're buying a house here. And take note that not every house has a storm shelter!

Weatherford is a very nice town. It is not too small but it also is not too big. It has an amazing community that strives for excellence. It is a growing community for many years. With the growth, new infrastructure has been put into place. Starbucks and White Buffalo coffee is coming soon!
I've lived in Weatherford for 15 years, I graduated from Weatherford High School in 2009. Since I moved here, Weatherford has evolved so much, we have so many different opportunities to offer new freshman. Being that Weatherford is an oilfield town, we have so much more to offer than just oil field jobs. Every day things are changing, we have some of the most amazing businesses that offer jobs to college students and understand their busy schedule. It's very easy to navigate this town and it is also 65 miles west of Oklahoma City. I have enjoyed living here and I have been so impressed with SWOSU thus far!
