One of the things I love about Waynesville is the small town vibe it gives. Everything from the small town coffee shops, to the library, to the local shopping. Another thing to love about Waynesville is that right around the corner, there's this beautiful lake called Caesar's Creek state park, which features everything from boating, to camping, to hiking. All in all its a quaint little town to grow up in, or to visit when you're in the area.
Waynesville is a charming village. It has excellent schools and extracurricular activities. It is the place to be for antique lovers! It is relatively quiet with few restaurants for nightlife. The town has one bar and no big chain stores. However, Waynesville is safe and has a low crime rate. There is a close knit community with little diversity, but it is pleasant just the same.
I spent half of my life growing up on a farm just outside of Waynesville, OH. I spent many summers riding on the bike path and walking to the nearest park or to roaming the quaint antique shops in the downtown strip. Waynesville is a place I enjoy going back to, probably more for nostalgia's sake than anything else. The people in the shops are warm and welcoming, the food is great, and the state park that rests just outside of downtown is one that I will always go back to. Though Waynesville has a lot of charming qualities, it severely lacks diversity. Another negative to living in waynesville is that the nearest city is about 25 minutes in any which direction, so night life and larger shopping trip excursions take a bit more planning if they are to be incorporated into your day.
