Nice little town with lots to do outside. Throughout the year they have a lot of community activities. For example, every year in early December they hold Christmas on the Square. This event has lots of vendors selling things and giving away free food, warm clothing, activities, and of course Santa! It is just one event this town offers. There are also a lot of different churches to choose from that everyone can find where they belong.
Waynesville is in the beautiful Ozarks. It shares its diversity with the local military community of Ft Leonard Wood. Crime is low, housing is plenty, and cost of living is also low. Waynesville school district is excellent for small town living and there are many family friendly areas here. Unfortunately we are more rural and therefore we have a minimum amount of bars, and local venues, ie stores for shopping. Overall this is a good place to raise a family and live a comfortable life.
I moved to Waynesville in 2012 (army brat). I have grown to call here home. There honestly isn't a whole lot to do here but that's part of what makes here great. You don't hear about the craziness in big name cities. A lot of people know each other because it's a small community. Being that there is an Army installation here, the diversity is huge. Growing up, I always experienced diversity but its nice for those that aren't/weren't used to it to experience it. It gives everyone a new view on life.
