I love living in Waxhaw, and overall, I'd say it's been a very family friendly experience. There are year-round seasonal festivals and activities, and around Christmas time they string up lights on all the trees and offer horse and carriage rides across town. It may not be the most exciting place to live, and the commute time can be a bit inconvenient at times (especially during rush hour), but it's a lovely place to raise your family and the people are always willing to lend a helping hand. Despite its shortcomings, I wouldn't live anywhere else.
Waxhaw is a super welcoming community with some of the nicest people I have ever met. Waxhaw is family friendly and has a variety of activities for socializing and relaxing. I enjoy living in Waxhaw, North Carolina, because it is a small, humble town and it has a very relaxed atmosphere. Not only is the town itself relaxed and welcoming, but the schools in Waxhaw are the best in the state at athletics, academics, and arts.
I am a current Waxhaw resident and I have lived here for more than 5 years. If you're looking for a place with affordable homes, amazing schools, low crime rate, and high diversity, I highly recommend moving to Waxhaw. It is surprisingly close to many stores and restaurants in the Charlotte area, including Waverly. With downtown Charlotte and Carowinds nearby, there are many fun things to do with family around Waxhaw. The weather is also great--it's neither too hot nor too cold at any time in the year.
