We love our neighborhood! It's close to the schools and a great pet-friendly neighborhood. It's also close to some great gyms, restaurants, and parks. Conveniently located less than 15 minutes from Des Moines, 5 minutes from West Des Moines — great places to go explore, volunteer & have fun! Proud to call Waukee home.

I think Waukee is a great place especially to grow up in. It's constantly changing and providing new opportunities to the community. I think the one thing I would love to see different in waukee is more diversity! Of course this takes time and with how fast waukee is changing into more of a city, I'm sure this will happen.
We moved from Washington DC metro to Waukee 5 years ago and we love it!
Our kids are in the best school district in Iowa, great family, safe and friendly neighborhood, we attend the Waukee YMCA and Hope Lutheran's Church, Beyond the Bell before/ after school & summer camps that are very affordable compare to the East Coast.

The only thing missing is the beach!...but for now, we plan to stay here until our kids graduate from High school.
