Waubun is my home. Most of the people in Waubun are extremely nice. Many of the older citizens come to many of the sporting events and cheer on our high school teams. I myself, am an athlete. To me it is the best feeling in the world when you have your communities support behind you, even if it is not in a sport. Waubun is just a wonderful place to live, but our community tends to get overlooked. A few years ago, we combined with Mahnomen in sports because we were running out of players and whenever we go out of town for an away game we are considered Mahnomen, not Mahnomen-Waubun.
I love how small it is. You know everyone by name. The school there can be a little rugged but other than that, it is a good school. By rugged, I mean that there is a lot of fights. I personally go there myself and I love it there. There are so many great people around the town as well. There is a store not too far from the school.
Waubun is such a great place to live! I go to college in Crookston, but I love coming home to my little town. Everyone knows everyone here, and we all get along great, especially when it comes to supporting our Waubun Bombers! I would not have wanted to live anywhere else in the world. I absolutely love my hometown.
