I live here. But have to work outside warseka because no decent jobs. flooding issue, dying businesses, very poor leadership in town and county. I've lived in Watseka since 1967. And I have seen Watseka dying a slow death. This is fixable with better leaders and if good business investor's would come in and develop this area. People that keep trying to stop growth should be singled out and leave if they don't like growth , who the hell our you to stop progress. Also not enough police to fight drugs. This area could use better reps.

A small town that I visit regularly to see local family members. With the arrival of businesses like Walmart and restaurants like Taco Bell and Steak-N-Shake it seems like smaller local stores have gone out of business. There are still a few local businesses along Main Street, which I hope manage to do well. However, espite the arrival of these big-name businesses it seems like Watseka, which was already a realtively small town, just seems to be getting smaller.
This town is very under developed and is in need of new leadership. There is nothing for the youth to do except sex, drug, and drink. It is a rather safe town compared to other cities. However, Wal-Mart has taken out almost all of the small businesses. Which has caused many individuals to move to other areas to find a job. This seems to be another dying town. It needs help now.
