I love that Waterford is a quiet, peaceful town. I appreciate the local mountain hiking trails, park, library, ponds, and rope-swing, along with nearby downhill skiing mountain. I wish that Waterford had more scheduled activities for young children after school, aside from the Waterford Elementary Recreational program.
There is hardly any crime in Waterford. Waterford is a very safe town encompassing a small park for children and bike trails. The police are not often visible, however you'll see them driving by occasionally. High school parties in the woods or fields is the worst of the potential crime in Waterford.
Waterford is a peaceful and pleasant town. I would live here again if I could repeat life. The people here are friendly and educated. Waterford has the ability to remain a "best kept secret" for rural living. There are many lakes for swimming, ice skating, and fishing. There's myriad mountains and hills to climb with varying lengths, like Hawk Mountain, which is a short, easy hike. As compared to the rest of the country Maine itself is a high ranking state, and Waterford is even better if you like listening to the crickets and seeing moose in your driveway!
