Overall, Waterbury allows for any kind of people to have a good time no matter when outer town somebody comes from. The people are welcoming and the schools are good. Sometimes Waterbury is looked down upon but the people differentiate from that definition and show that they're something else. If there was something to improve about Waterbury, it would be the roads. Fixing the roads would be something that wouldn't nit pick between economic classes but benefit everyone. It would make the drives safer and just a better experience. Road safety would be a beneficial factor to all without separating the people of Waterbury.
My experience while living in Waterbury, Connecticut has been interesting. I grew up in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end street, so my personal neighborhood has never been bad. Other parts of the city however, have not been very pleasant. The school system has been good to me, but many fights have broken out even since middle school. Many parts of Waterbury are shady and unsafe, leading to some crime. Other than that, the city is filled with diversity and genuine people. I find it shameful that neighboring towns look down on us, and many are afraid to step foot in the city. It has its flaws, but I have had a decent experience living in the large city for my lifespan.
Waterbury is a place that I will always consider home. It is the place that I have spent all of my life. It is also the place where my grandmother migrated to for a better life . My family has established many things in this city. Some of the establishments are churches, halfway houses, and many different properties. I will always share with people that great things can come from waterbury. Not only can great things come from waterbury but also great people.
