Ive lived in Waterbury for almost 18 years now and I can honestly say the public school system is horrible. Despite a waterbury teacher from my old school winning national teacher of the year, I can honestly say that in my four years of highschool Ive learned nothing to truly prepare me for college. In those four years, I did not learn how to write an essay at all! I watched a movie in every english class for the majority of the year for all four years which ended up being embarrasing for me when I started my first year of college. I hate to write this review becuase I really love the teachers in that school and they really do care about their students but schools in general have to change the way they are teaching things, its essentiallly time for an upgrade.

Too much violence going on! This is the whole reason why I'm in school to become a teacher, I want to see a change in the world and our kids. They are our new generation. We need more positive adults and leaders. This city was good and went downhill. Too many killings, car accidents, careless citizens trying to harm everyone around them, and many more robberies going on.
Waterbury has a poor reputation and no pride in itself. If residents worked together to create a safer, more inclusive community, we would have a lot to offer!
