My experience in this community it's good. I live on a avenue and there are many car, but it is very calm.
Something that makes me feel insecurity is because a few days ago I witnessed a car theft. The police came, but the suspects were gone.

On a daily basis you will hear from a distance the police sirens of cop cars. In the corner of my street there is a liquor store so its safe to stay that at most hours of the day you will find guys there drinking and smoking so I along with my sister don't feel safe going there and if we do, we go with our brother or dad or just send my brother by himself. Around where we live on one side it's more like factories so I never walk on that side because I wouldn't want to be caught off guard and sometimes you may see people who don't look like they have good intentions. In fact there was a prostitute there once and ever since then we just avoid going there alone.
It's not a bad neighborhood but its not a neighborhood I would choose to live in if I had the choice and or other options. You grow accustomed to it fairly quickly though, which I guess is a good thing. In the street where I live in it is moderatly peaceful and our neighbors are really nice and helpful, though I can't speak for other streets. I hope that the people who live around this area keep improving and get an education and that pacific can once again flourish the way it used to before.
