If only Walnut Creek didn't have spiders! The public schools are great and really push their students to work hard to earn their grades - A's aren't handed out. There are a lot of local businesses, family-owned establishments, as well as big stores here. Downtown mall is nice to visit as well. It is however, a bit expensive to live here but well worth it as the streets are very clean and the city is always re innovating! One down side: there is a noticeable crime rate here. I've heard of cars being broken into even in my quiet neighborhood as well as mail box thieves in our condo area. I can't speak for the job opportunities or the nightlife (I do not take part) but all in all, Walnut Creek is great.
Walnut Creek is a great city to raise a family. They have nice, safe neighborhoods. Downtown Walnut Creek is on the rise with more shops, restaurants and businesses coming in. Broadway Plaza's renovation and update is almost complete. We have been happy living here for almost 20 years!
Walnut Creek, Ca has all the amenities of the big city, in a quaint historic small town appeal. There are all the big box stores and all the specialty high-end boutiques too. There is even a major historic building that has a Starbucks Coffee inside. And that Starbucks on Main and Duncan is the center of the town and what they call the Starbucks cluster with stores within blocks of each other. The people are really friendly and a lot of diversity with all ethnic types, foodies, families, seniors, and animals. It is like a town paradise and I would move there if I could, but my home is in historic Wilmington, NC.
