Waconia is a great small town to live in with a very friendly community. The schools are excelling, especially ill the music department and college readiness. The town is growing and is in a convenient location just west of the twin cities. Commuting to the twin cities takes under 45 minutes, so work is available. One thing that Waconia struggles with is affordability. Waconia is a very rich town and houses, on average, run very high compared to other towns, even in Minnesota. Overall, Waconia is a big enough community that it provides opportunities for both adults and children, but small enough that you know people when you travel around. Everyone is very friendly.

There is no place like Waconia. No matter who you are, you can find your place in this hip town. It's right at the edge of suburbia, so it's just close enough to the cities, but it's far enough away to feel like a small town. We're so rich in culture, it's insane. There are always community events going on and it's almost a challenge to not get involved! Everyone here is genuine and friendly, the most neighborly of all neighbors. From Nickle Dickle Day to Walk on Waconia, there's a little bit of everything. The lake is a favorite in our rinky dink home, with boating and swimming in the summer and ice fishing in the winter. If the lake isn't for you, there are plenty of cool wineries, breweries, and restaurants perfect for a nice evening with a date or with a family! We also have one of the best school systems around, and it's growing like crazy. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for the lake town that I love.
Waconia is a great up coming and growing community with people who want to see development and growth for the future. They recently added a starbucks, culvers, jimmy johns, and are builing a TRIA right next to target.
