Ive lived in vista my entire life and ive been in their school systems since pre-k to my current senior year. Ive never had any issues with my living enviroment
Very little to do of interest in Vista or anywhere nearby. In kind of cultural vat to be honest. Housing costs continued to increase dramatically during the time I lived there. Public schools are below average in Vista. A couple areas are decent, but again, not really much to do if you're an active person. No interesting culture and some areas are very unsafe.
Cost of living here is ridiculous for the quality of life in this city. Sales tax is higher here than even the State sales tax and higher than the wealthier areas of town (La Jolla even!). The Vista Irrigation District pricing is obscene, with my service fee typically being 50% or more of my bill. Don't count on experiencing a community vibe or having good schools. Vista Unified is notorious for poor test scores, non-qualified teachers and subpar instruction for minority students and students with disabilities. There are major problems with gangs and homelessness. Don't live here.
Vista is a great place to start a family, it’s in the suburbs so not much of a party city. Schools are great and very academically challenging. There is diversity as well. Community is very welcoming and warm.
People say Vista doesn’t have many light but I’m telling most days I go out for a walk around 9 pm sesh on a blunt and I’m telling you you could walk out at night without having to worry of being victim of a crime
Great weather. Always sunny. Pretty rolling hills landscape. Friendly people. Variety of shopping, restaurants.
The place is a bit rusty on some parts, but nonetheless, it has been going great for the city and it's people.
I enjoy seeing all of the new renovations that are taking place in my home town. I love that there are so many places to go get take out from.
It is a great place to live and it is calm area. The schools are great and safe. I have been living in Vista my whole life and I still love living here. Everyone in Vista are nice and friendly. The neighborhoods are safe and quiet. At night it is quiet.
Parts are very nice, mostly south of the 78 highway, and others are not as nice, but looks are not everything. Statistically, crime is quite low and in the rougher LOOKING neighborhoods, rent is reasonable and is still safe, even at night.
Vista is said to have some of the most pleasant whether in country, and its true. Close vicinity to the coast, plenty of breweries, and waiting to be the next updated city in North County.
This city provides many job opportunities. There’s a winter parade which allows children to become more involved in the community, there’s also sports teams and programs.
I love the area we live in. It is close to a variety of places from the beach, the village, breweries, and so much more. It would be nice to have more restaurants available.
Having lived in this town all my life, I have seen the surrounding improve over the years, especially how much more inviting it has become in recent years. Once filled with numerous empty plot across town, even some sketchy streets, the town now offers a calm dwelling, as well as inviting social centers. Mainstreet is consistently being maintained, has quite a few festivals/event through the year, and has a number of great restaurants. The town has a lot of personality, from delicious ethnic restaurants to trendy and experimental foods, and having so many cultural shops to the Mainstream and/or high-end supermarkets.
close to oceanside and generally cheaper rent in vista. close to oceanside and generally cheaper rent in vista.
Although the homeless population has been increasing in the area (most of San Diego is actually going through the same thing), I like living here. The weather is always great, short drive from the beach and lots of hiking options.
Very drab and gloomy. I think that there really isn't anything exciting about Vista. I usually just go to nearby cities to do my shopping, eating, etc. That's about it. Also there are a lot of rude, old people here.
