I grew up in this town. It's still very much stuck in the 80s. The people are decent, but there is a very strong sense of racial tension that has been here since I can remember.

This is a small town that is trying to grow, however, there isn't much space for big companies. Nevertheless, you can get necessities right in town (food, water, clothes...enough to make it through a hurricane). Although, many wish there were more restaurants and stores to choose from, I personally think it would take away from the true country town feeling you get when you are there.
The weather here is wonderful. Spring is when we tend to get the most rain, flooding, and storms but it's not extremely bad. Summer can be intense, the temperature can get really hot and humidity can be awful if you're not used to it. Fall doesn't really separate summer and winter anymore...Fall is either hot or cold. Winter has not been consistent for the last few years so you really don't know what to expect.
