Living in Van Buren, you get the small town atmosphere, but convenience to so many things, as it's right on I-40 and I-540 and close to the beginning of I-49 North. The town is also expanding north, up Hwy 59 N/Fayetteville Rd, with businesses and restaurants popping up. There are also various neighborhoods to find a reasonably priced home or areas at the edges and out of city limits if you're looking for country living without being too far from amenities. A new police station was recently built and sub-stations at various schools in the area give a positive presence. There are various school opportunities to continue education without going a long way. And you can take a train ride in downtown and see what there is to see!
Van Buren is a fairly decent place to live. Van Buren is filled with many kind and caring people. However, I will say there is not much to do in Van Buren. The only fun things we really have is the movie theaters and the skating rink. Besides there being nothing to do, the town is very big on sports and game nights that’s when you will see most people out and about.
Very small, but not too small. Every where you go you will recognize someone, from a pastor to your friend's parents. There are many food selections: typical fast food burgers such as Wendy's and Burger King, pizza places like Domino's, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns, Mexican restaurants like La Fiesta, Las Fresas, and many more, chicken from KFC and Zaxby's, and ice cream places such as Braum's and Minga's. The city of Van Buren also has lots of school spirit supporting the love for the green and white pointer dogs!
