Obviously the traffic in the morning and afternoon going to/from the base is bad, but that aside Valparaiso is a great place. The walks around Bayshore drive are beautiful, with minimal traffic. The parks are beautiful. People actually come from other towns to walk around Bayshore, go to Florida Park and Lincoln Park. We are part of the twin cities of Valparaiso/Niceville and about 20 minutes from Destin. So we don't have the traffic with the tourists but can enjoy the advantages of a tourist area if we want. The fishing is good in our area. The people are nice, and friendly if you are. You need to get out and walk around though. The housing prices are reasonable and we are just a few minutes from grocery stores and shopping areas. A very patriotic area as we have AF, Army, Navy and Marines in this area. The schools are fantastic. Very highly rated and the high school sports are always at the top of their divisions. There are a lot of churches so finding your niche should not be an issue. This is a place you can call home.

More ameneties would be nice. Not a lot it is mostly a housing town for eglin. Has a few nice resturaunts but needs more stores. A local walmart or publix would be nice.
We have a combination of people in the area. There are many military so we have a lot of people moving in and out, but we also have many people that have lived here for years. The best thing about the area is that nearly everyone is accepted.
