Valley Stream is a beautiful place to live. We have a large state park and other little parks all over, which are great for kids. The time it takes to travel to Queens and the other boroughs are fair on a regular day. Although we do not have much nightlife, if you travel down about 10 minutes into Rockville you will find plenty of bars. We have a community center that houses an outdoor public pool along with a little "waterpark" for the children. It also includes a diving pool and a pool for elders. Our school district is great, and the teachers really care about the children. Valley stream has plenty of families living here and we always have police patrolling ensuring everyone's safety. The community really has a tight-knit feeling. Everyone is welcomed!

Valley Stream is surprisingly quiet and friendly, I like the neighborhoods and what surrounds it. There are a few places to eat without having to drive very far from home when one just wants to stay at home and there is a numerous amount of things to do in the neighborhood whether its going to the dog park, library, or the pool for some summer fun! What I would like to see change in is making the neighborhood more eco-friendly and child-safe for kids who like to play on the streets.
I've lived in Valley Steam for all my life. I grew up in a suburban area with a multitude of opportunities to get involved in the community. I also was given the incredible experience of going away to school and there truly isn’t anythjng like coming home to the surplus of pizza places, delis and bagels!
