Valley Stream is a beautiful neighborhood to live in. There are so many activities to do and clubs to partake in. It's a safe and quiet place for families to reside and criminal activity is kept to a minimum. One perk that stands out for this neighborhood is Hendrickson Park which is a beautiful park that contains bike/walking lanes, benches, basketball and tennis courts, a pool, and so much more. To add on, Valley Stream was named to be one of the best places to live in New York a few years ago! It really is a great place to live and anyone would be able to fit in here.
Valley Stream is a wonderful place to live. It’s clean, diverse and very safe. In VS you are close to highways that will take you further into Long Island, or towards areas of NYC like Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. I worked in Flushing, Queens and my commute time was around 30 minutes. Nearby communities such as Lynbrook (depending on which side of VS you’re in), and Malverne are really nice. The best thing about VS is it’s safety and proximity to NYC. The worse thing about VS is the property tax burden. The taxes are quite high in the area (like much of Nassau County). There are nice parks like Valley Stream State Park and Hendrickson Park. Not too far away there’s Hall’s Pond Park in West Hempstead.
One of the most convenient towns to live in. Very diverse. There is easy access to highways, the LIRR train station is located right at the center, and there are multiple MTA bus stops for easy commuting. There are hundreds of food options ranging from Chinese buffets to fancy Italian restaurants. However, the schools here are average when it comes to testing scores.
