I guess it’s pretty alright. I’ve lived here my entire life, so I can’t complain. I really love my job here at the library and everything is pretty close by, so there’s not much need to travel out of town if you want food or a good restaurant. The only school actually in Valley Cottage is really Valley Cottage Elementary, which wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great either. There’s a small stream behind the school which was probably my favorite part about it. It’s a basic and average town with seemingly nothing special about it.
Valley Cottage is a beautiful town , family orientated. Growing up in Valley Cottage you see families going for walks , kids riding their bikes. The local pizza shops and deli's are awesome , people are just friendly.
What i remember the most about growing up there is riding my bike down to my best friends house and collecting the junk people put out for bulk pick up so we could go in the woods and build our clubhouse . we would climb trees and light sparklers in the summer. In the winters we would find a hill and go sleigh riding and build snowmen with the others kids in the neighborhood.
everyone knew us and where we were at, we knew that at 6pm no matter what it dinner at whos ever house we were at. To this day i remember just riding our bikes to town and getting candy from the candy store and my mom calling the store to make sure we were there.

Safe and quiet town with friendly neighbors. Population is diverse and the town has great access to highways and palisades mall. Good for families.
