I was born on Moody Airforce Base, it's about 9 miles northeastern of Valdosta. Valdosta is a great place to start a life and raise a family. The public schooling system is great, and they are currently in the process of making a new high school in the area. The high school is said to look like a mini campus and projected to be finished around late August of 2018. The night life here is what you make it; they have a beautiful downtown, which attract individuals from all over the city. They have local clubs, and bars which appeal to all crowds, gender and age. Valdosta is not that bag and the traffic flows pretty easily, so commuting to work after longs nights will not be a problem. Living here I feel safe, because you always see policeman out patrolling making the communities safe! I'd recommend that anyone come here to start a new life.

If you are looking for southern charm and down home southern hospitality, it's worth an easy visit to Valdosta. Here you'll really find the heart of South Georgia. Lots of smiles and warm greetings as you wander around downtown or through the historic Crescent House. You'll find restaurants full of friendly conversation and shops giving you plenty to explore. Don't miss Wild Adventures, a ton of fun with animals you can get close to, a huge water park and lot's of rides. There's plenty of laughs and family friendly excitement, with no long lines. In Valdosta, people will strike up conversations with you anywhere and at any time! Whether I am at the grocery store, a coffee shop, a convenience store, pumping gas or at dinner, it’s not uncommon for someone to say hi and ask how you’re doing today. And, if we have our great dane with us, they will always ask us about him and for a picture so the friendliness is even extended to your pets!
I lived in Valdosta, Georgia for a year and absolutely loved it! The people were so friendly and modeled southern hospitality in their welcome and before long I found myself with a large group of friends. Valdosta is the place with it all- wonderful restaurants, bakeries, shopping, colleges, parks and sports.
If I ever get the chance to return to Valdosta, I will happily make it my home once more.
