Vacaville is the perfect location for those seeking a place to be nestled between some of California's greatest sights and adventures, while maintaining a sense of community, family values and a balance of city and country life. Vacaville offers extraordinary opportunities for families and individuals including: community events and festivals, local sports, unparalleled retail and restaurant choices, beautiful landscapes and valley weather. Being between Sacramento and San Francisco, Vacaville is just the right distance for traveling! Whether visiting our capital, catching a game in the bay (4 sports arenas all within a 45 minute drive), enjoying the sights of the city and beaches, or staying local and enjoying our beautiful hiking trails, Vacaville can't be beat for access to adventure!

I moved here around 6-7 months ago from out of state, though I have visited here before.

I love the scenery! When it rains, the hills turn nice and green, and the bike trail by the creek provides a nice place to take a walk. Downtown is pretty at night, and features an abundance of places to eat. Seasonal community activities also provide a good place for the family to relax. There's also an outlet mall in town, which has decent sales from time to time. The Jelly Belly headquarters are also in Fairfield (city right next to Vacaville), which is definitely worth checking out.

Strangers are fairly polite, but I'd like to see the area taken care of a bit more. It depends on where you live in town, but some neighborhoods tend to be a bit alienated from the rest. If you walk down by the bike trail, it's unfortunate to see the amount of litter cast throughout the trees.
What I like about Vacaville is, I feel that it's safe. The crime rate is extremely low and there are many restaurants and shopping areas. They have many varietals when it comes to family fun! Something Vacaville has is creek walk. Which is a summer event that happens every Friday night of the summer. Creek walk includes, dancing, food, live music and a good time. I highly recommend this city. What I would love to see change is, more winter family events.
