The school has a lot of opportunities but ignored the needs of lower-income students and does not care about students struggling with mental health. The taxes are also extremely high which makes it next to impossible for normal household incomes to live here even if they were grandfathered in. There isn't much to do besides the rec center, which is also very expensive.

My mom grew up in USC before she left for college and after living away from USC for fifteen years she decided to move us here. I was hesitant our first year because we lived in a small town before, but we've been here for almost nine years and I love it here. I have family here, I've made life-long friends here, and the community and opportunities here are great.
Probably the best place to grow up as a kid and or raise kids in the Pittsburgh area. The USC schools are a great place to learn and have ample opportunities for kids, and just about any neighborhood is safe and friendly. USC does fall short by having to drive around to get to just about anything, and some people are way too sheltered from outside the USC bubble. With that being said, overall USC is a safe and friendly community.
