Moved to UD for the school district. Which is... u get what u put in. So the outstanding Chinese and some Jewish kids take most of the accolades and get into amazing schools. Was disappointed that the general population didn’t seem as invested in academic excellence for their kids—meaning invested in learning, not just invested in inflated grades. Despite this disappointment, have realized that this area, like the greater Philly metro area, is like the Shire—people like to stay put. This makes out-of-staters feel less at home since we don’t have grandparents, aunts, and uncles nearby, but it also engenders... well, the good and bad of hobbit-like attitudes and behaviors. As a geographical outsider, it’s quaint and sometimes sweet. It feels very safe and it’s very very suburban. Good place to raise a family. If u like safe and suburban.

I like how welcoming it is. There are many children that play together when it's nice out. Everyone is really nice. The school district is good and many students go on to attend a good college after graduating. The district is big, so you may have to travel 10-15 minutes to see other friends or go to school. The location is good, as it is close to Philly and also not far from KOP.
This area has a lot of outlets for diverse interests such as sports, the arts of all kinds, outdoors and parks, shopping, restaurants, places of worship, meetups, education, and the richest history in the nation! The weather is great because we rarely get crazy extremes, or natural disasters. And the countryside is so beautiful and peaceful! However, the cost of living is high and the roads are congested and everybody is too busy. For these reasons we hope to move farther out to the country where life is simpler.
