New shops restaraunts are opening all over the place in he local area. These provide new jobs to young workers, with low wages. Big businesses do not really exist in this area. There are a few examples, Sunbury Motors, Wood - Metal Industries, Weis Corporate Office. These jobs may provide a decent wage, but would be paid more if in a better location. At the same time as many new hotspots opening, a lot of stores are closing down due to high rent. Boscovs, Famous Footwear, Friendlys are the most recent closures.

There are a variety of different types of stores. There are the big chain stores that allow people to get items that we need or would like, such as name brand items. On the other hand, there are small shops throughout town that provide people with the satisfaction of actually owning a small homey business. These shops contain the smaller things that people would like to use.
It the spring and summer time, the only possible natural disasters that occur once in a few years are floods from the susquehanna river, drought, and a few storms. In the winter and fall time, it usually gets extremely cold and there is usually one bog winter storm per season.
