Upland, California is beautiful city located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. It's always been one of my lifetime goals to live in Upland & I have finally achieved that goal. I love living in Upland! I especially like Downtown Upland with its charming shops and delicious restaurants. Downtown Upland has a very family friendly vibe, with many events put on by the local shops. Events such as art walks, movie nights, farmers markets, and skate nights. You can even ride your bike or walk along the Pacific Electric Trail right through Downtown! There's also the Euclid Avenue Walk Trail, which is about 6 miles with picturesque views of Mt. Baldy and historic homes along the path. There are plenty of parks to visit as well. One thing that I would change about Upland is the homeless population. There are certain areas where the homeless people congregate & it's unfortunate that they are in that position. Overall, Upland is a city that I would highly recommend living in.
There's a lot to like about Upland. There are multiple little-league-type organizations to put children into, including teams at the YMCA. The schools are pretty well-mixed and inclusive. For example, Upland has a large Mexican population, so my elementary school printed everything in both Spanish and English, taught some Spanish lyrics to sing during recitals, and even successfully integrated 2 students from Mexico. Upland High has many opportunities, as well. Not much crime happens there, although I have known a good handful of people whose homes were robbed over the years, including myself. Downtown Upland is full of struggling businesses which are always failing and making room for the next, but there are still some fun events like Halloween activities and the Lemon Festival. Just prepare to haggle over prices for some of the neat purchases you can make down there. Otherwise, The Colonies shopping center can cover a lot of what you'd need in everyday life.
Upland is an amazing place to live in. Every possible need is within your reach, and you don't have to travel far for anything! Movies, restaurants, gas stations, Grocery stores, you name it! With great schools, public and private alike! The city is beautiful and gorgeous, filled with green and life. Family Friendly, good neighbors, and the ability to do wonderful outdoor activities! Here we get all four seasons, and not only that, but we get snow on the hills during the winter. Where are the hills you may ask? Why, right in your backyard, of course! So tell me, what's lackluster or not to like?
