I like the slight quietness of University Park. I would like to see more life in it. There's an issue with the water system here. There aren't many businesses around the neighborhood to support.I would also love to see and somehow be a part of having different ongoing activities for the youth to get involved in.
I am most proud of the family connection and family involvement in University Park. I would like for more restaurants , job opportunities and better water for the city.
When I was younger University Park was fun and safer than it is today. I used to be able to go outside and ride my bike with my friends. Nowadays, I do not go outside due to more violence taking place in the area.
University Park is an ok place. There is good access to transportation such as Metra or Pace into the city. Other than that there is really nothing here, the community is a food desert and there is frequent crime and violence in the area.
In university park I have noticed that everyone is very friendly and helpful. I just recently moved in the area and I have to honestly say that I am very impressed and satisfied that I chose this area. I checked out the community to see what they have to offer for adults and children that want to get involved. They have football, basketball, cheerleading, volleyball, Girl Scout, & Boy Scout for the children of all ages. For adults they have activities like voluntary community service, a spokes group to help single mothers, food drives, donations, coaches for children sports, and festivals planned for families to come out and have fun. These aspects of the community makes me want to get involved and contribute to make a difference. Overall university park is a growing town full of great vibes to be a better you.
I have been a resident of University Park for almost 5 years and I love the sense of community on my block and in our closest elementary school Coretta Scott King Magnet School. Recently I have noticed some complaints of crime and the negative traffic we have in the neighborhood.
This southwest suburb is small and quiet. There could be more to the area but it's convenient for me.
I would very much like the community to grow in unity and welfare of each other, in areas such as living and landscape.
University Park is a pretty good suburbs to live in, in certain areas. I am in an apartment complex, but I know that towards the houses in some areas it can be pretty bad. Overall, the Governors State University is a great asset to the community. They have a wide range of majors and classes available to everyone at an affordable cost. They just built a new dorm complex available to the students. The Metra station is close by also for those that commute, it is minutes away from the university. There are many factories around such as Clorox Also, there are many amenities available in the town such as Walmart, GSU, and nearby surrounding communities that offer many stores.
There are select neighborhoods i know through friendships and schooling. But no one goes out of their way to be neighborly and try to hang out with one another.
It's a pretty rural area. There's lots a outdoor space and acces to nature. But it's also in the middle of nowhere and unless you have a car, you can't access anything.
It depends on where you live. The houses vary from nice to questionable. Certain apartment complexes have decent amenities.
There is nothing great at all.
There is a low availability of businesses in my neighborhood. The best thing is a Family Dollar, which was just added last year,
Its not to bad the outdoor area is very clean and well kept up to date.
The area has grown over the past years and become a nice quiet city.
