I have lived in Turnersville for my whole life, so my opinions may be biased. Turnersville is great for those who want to live in a typical suburb. The majority of the stores here are pizza places, malls, and grocery shops. It has the pollution of a small city but with more trees and grass. The population is pretty condensed, and while you can walk to places, it would not be the recommended mode of transportation.
People are nice and schooling is good. Town does not have much character just standard regular suburb. Parks are beautiful and new bike paths throughout. Not much of a business district, there are many medical and auto business but not much of anything else. Has many big box stores such as Walmart, Target and Sams Club. Mix of small and big name fast food and restaurants. Most people work in healthcare or will have to commute outside of town or commute to city of Philadelphia. There is no local train and will need to travel about 20 mins to get to closest train station.
The town is relatively large, but there are a lot of small, hole-in-the-wall places. The town has become a cultural intersection, with many different types of food and customs shared among the townspeople. As a member of the LGBT community, there are times where I felt unsafe. However, the town has steadily changed over the past ten years and the town has become much more open-minded as a whole.
