Turner Reviews

Turner is also a really conservative area. To give an example that stays away from personal interests but give you a good idea, there were a crap ton of Trump signs out for the 2020 election. Make of that what you will. If you're LGBT, it's unlikely that people at school will say anything outright to your face, but there will be some stares and probably words behind your back. People probably won't go out of their way to show their opinion for the most part unless you really make yourself noticed and try to do some advocating. Being a 'lib' doesn't get you far in this area. If you like hunting and outdoorsy activities, this is a great place for you as said in other comments. Turner is pretty close to some decent cities, but even there you need to do a lot of driving to get where you're going. The Walmart is actually pretty good and there aren't too many stereotypical Walmart people. Don't move to Maine if you like name brand companies like Costco. They don't exist here
I wish I could give a 2.5 here because this place has its ups and downs depending on who you are. I've lived here my entire life, known nothing else, but I'm personally not a fan. It's a rural area meaning you need to drive basically anywhere or walk a couple of miles at least depending on where you are relative to your destination, not something that's good if you don't have a car or rely on someone else for transportation (making it difficult to be reliable and get a job as a teen if parents are busy). The school system isn't bad exactly and some of the schools seem to be getting better since I went there, but they don't take a proactive approach to bullying and one school at one point had a five-hit policy (where your child had to be hit five times before they could hit back without getting in trouble) that restarted on a daily basis. I've got more to say, so I'm probably gonna make a second review because I wanna give a good analysis
Turner, Maine has been my home since birth. The small town is incredibly welcoming and the tight knit community is one of a kind. Turner is centered around its schools and the athletic programs. Friday nights in Turner revolve around the high school games and getting together with friends and family. I couldn't have asked for a better place to grow up.
