Tupelo is a lovely southern town with many attractions. Downtown Tupelo boasts many cute stores and restaurants, and you can even visit the birthplace of Elvis!
Tupelo is a good town. I love that it is growing so fast. If I could change one thing about tupelo, it would be to have more activities/groups for young people or young married couples. Groups like book clubs or just more things to do on a friday night rather than just go eat somewhere. However, I know that Tupelo is growing at a fast rate and I am sure that there will be more to offer in no time. Tupelo is much better than it use to be for sure! It's also fun to let people know that Tupelo is where Elvis was actually born and not Graceland. Fun little fact there! Tupelo can be crowded during the day so if you are in a hurry, be sure to know that you won't get anywhere super fast in town by the mall. The roads can get very congested! Just take a deep breath, put on a good radio station and take your time!
I’ve lived here two years. And I absolutely dislike it. The city was not main for heavy traffic flow yet everyday there are lines that stretch through red lights everywhere.
It’s very expensive compared to a lot of other cities most apartments are about $900 for just a 1 bed and houses are from $1200 up to rent.
It’s not much of a job selection either. Just tons of fast food restraints and retail. Tupelo isn’t very pet friendly either. Most places won’t even let you rent with a pet and when they do their not very safe or up to date apartments. I moved here to assist my parents and the housing communities here take serious pride in the housing authority. Anything you want to do will get looked into and neighbors rather call authorities then talk to you about something that bothers them. Mainly just a glorified retirement city. Not a great or fun place to live if you’re in your late 20s early 30s. I don’t recommend.
