Truckee is the best place in the world! Haha. Well. I may be a little biased. I was born and raised there after all. I have lived in five states, four countries, and have visited every place in between, but nothing has ever compared to Truckee. The warm summers and snowy winters are any athletes dream. My teachers, from preschool to highschool, were amazing. And nothing quite compares to being able to venture out the back of your house into the forest and curl up with a book.
The one critique I would have is, the rapid population rise of the town has resulted in insane housing price increases.

Born and raised in Truckee - am now 30 years old. When I was younger I couldn’t wait to get out and see some more diversity. Then in college I grew to appreciate what Truckee had to offer...there is a definite “hype” to the Tahoe area. Everybody thinks they know more about Tahoe than the next person and the real locals are left rolling their eyes. Now it has changed so much I don’t recognize anyone at the stores or slopes and can’t get out of Safeway on a random Wednesday without facing the kind of line that we used to only see Thanksgiving day. Back in the day I thought I’d come back and raise a family in Truckee, nowadays I think I’ll avoid the crowds and posers.
Truckee has been my hometown for the last 23 years, and I could not have asked for a better place to be raised. This town has provided me with an education, life long friends, and a steady career. I love my town!
