I've really enjoyed growing up and living in Buffalo! I could almost describe it as a hidden gem, as Buffalo has a wealth of culture that's been flourishing due to the efforts of locals and incoming college students. While the economy had been on a decline in Buffalo after the shrinking of the steel industry, it's beginning to grow in part due to the local government and new industries seeking out spaces in Buffalo, such as the new Solar City. Streets such as Elmwood, Delaware Ave. and Main St. contain a wide variety of shops, and a ton of culture. Buffalo is a city on the rise, and I look forward to seeing it grow.
I have enjoyed living here for 12 years. With the most recent presidential election, it was eye opening to realize the racist attitudes of so many of my neighbors displayed via signage, flags and bumper stickers. So much for being "America's Neighborhood".
