Used to have a small town feel. People are changing but the local government system is still filling their pockets. It's been a few years Tolleson was designated a slum. There has not been a change to fix the issue. Only a bandaid project. The main street was cleaned up and redesign but the inside remains infected.
The police department is lazy and from personal experience very incompetent. This I believe is covered up by the image they care about students. In reality it is their job to be on campus and should they want to help in another then great!
I did the the experience to attend and work for the Tolleson school districts. This may be the reason I choose to improve myself to aid in the rehabilitation of my home town. Grow, learn, work and live is here. There are a handful of residents who feel the same; and it is with great hope to redirect our focus for a positive future of Tolleson. To keep it sustainable for new and old families with that old town feel we all love. Thank you.

Not many people know about Tolleson, or where exactly Tolleson is located in the state of Arizona. When explaining that Tolleson is a small city on Van Buren from 83rd to 107th ave and stretches up to lower buckeye people are still unaware of the location. I even mention how Tolleson Union High School was founded in 1914. Even though Tolleson is a unknown city to many people to me Tolleson is a place I called home. Made me feel welcome with such a small community of Mexican American people who all want to achieve great things in life and want others to achieve the same!
Tolleson is a tight knight community with a range of ethnicities including Hispanic, African American and White. Although we come from different backgrounds, we all come together to support each other. Whether it would be from supporting the local businesses to just being a good member of the community, the people of Tolleson always have each other backs. A lot of people from Tolleson come out of the local high school; Tolleson Union High School which allows others to more open with others. The people of the community are constantly out and about when they can enjoying what Tolleson offers, to the public water display to the Christmas lights during the holidays or even the recreation center the city offers. Tolleson is a place for all families to come by and spend a day at and enjoy it.
