Tohatchi Reviews
Rating 3 out of 5 1 review
I moved from a major city, Houston, to Tohatchi which is a very isolated area. The communities are miles apart and so are the major cities. This move was definitely a culture shock. In a state populated mostly of native Americans, I was one in ten black people in my community and one in three black kids in my school. I became depressed because accessibility was limited and cultural differences became a barrier of communication. However, overtime I adjusted to my newfound environment and started to appreciate the good it had to offer. Such as: quiet nights, an escape from the busy city life and affordable resources. I would appreciate a community center where the residents could use for leisure and entertainment.
