Throckmorton may not be the prettiest town in Texas, but our tradition is what keeps our name on the map. Our town has a tradition of athletic success, with four State football titles, nine State golf titles, Regional semifinalists in basketball, state runner up in Tennis this past year. our town is very proud of our superb athletic program. Our town is also big in the agricultural business. Our town is home of the R.A. Brown Ranch. The Brown Ranch is very successful in what they do. Our town is also known for Bob Lilly "Mr. Cowboy", he played Defensive Tackle for the Dallas Cowboys from 1961-1974. All in all the experience is pretty good, at first the town isn't much of a sight, but once you get to know the town history and the people that live there the drive is worth it.
It's a small town that is very welcoming. The only downside is that everyone knows everyone's business. There is no privacy.
