Beautiful place & the hot springs are amazing! This is a small town packed with many things to do in and around the area. The Hot Springs state park is stunning and beautiful. It was relaxing! The Star Plunge is a hot mineral pool located within the Hot Springs state park. It features water slides and both indoor and outdoor heated pools. About 30 miles from Thermopolis are the Legend rock petroglyphs. Even though this site is in the middle of no where and requires a small hike, it is well worth the trip.
A small town allows for people to get to know each other faster. It has been easier to become part of small communities and being social within the small town of Thermopolis. Although Thermopolis doesn't have much to offer through activities like Casper, where I previously lived, it makes it a lot more fun to travel and then come back to relax. It's also nice to have a unique opportunity to enjoy the Hot Springs.
I like Thermopolis. But, there is not much to do here, as it being very small. I think of Thermopolis as a retirement town, where older folks can live and relax and not have to worry about crazy kids all the time.
