The Colony Reviews
Since the construction on Main has finished, Main is now more functional and aesthetically pleasing. Many of the sidewalks in neighborhoods in The Colony have been replaced. However, neighborhoods around the high school still have very old roads. I love the community of The Colony and the participation in events such as the Christmas, 4th of July and Homecoming parades. There are also many events throughout the year such as Liberty by the Lake, the annual carnival, golf tournaments and The Colony Half Marathon. There are many good places to eat and things to do, such as go to TopGolf, Studio Movie Grill or Hawaiian Falls. The voting process is very easy and efficient.
The Colony is a relativity safe suburban city that is flourishing with new businesses monthly. It is very good for new families moving in, but there are some clear infrastructure problems with the lack of construction in certain areas.Slightly outside of The Colony there is much more to offer when it comes to recreation and eatery, but in the housing area there is less than expected.Though if you are beginning a family there are great public schools with top notch safety with the local fire and police departments being placed throughout the major sectors of the city.Though it is not necessarily a tourist spot it is a terrific place to make a home in.
This is one of the best places that I have lived because of the community feel and proximity of everything. We have little to no crime, very active police, citizen patrol, and emergency services. The library may not be amazing or huge, but we have partnerships in nearby cities for free library use. The city has a range of living accommodations with decent schools that all seem to be in walking or driving distance. There is always city events that is through the city, churches, or businesses that can include all ages. The only bad thing is the construction time. The main roads seem to have long time spans of months. Our city is growing with businesses like Nebraska Furniture Mart that brings in a lot more sales taxes. The house economy is growing like no other and everyday I see children playing on the street because our neighborhoods are SUPER safe. This is such an amazing community and place to live.
